Short Mat Bowls Rules Modification

The rules will be posted in the clubhouse as they have been in past years.

Clarification of Rule 7. Any bowl leaving the side of the mat is dead.

It was decided the best way to keep this rule simple is to take the rule literally, meaning that the side of the mat is the whole length of the mat. If the jack goes off the corner of the mat, then the two vice decide if the jack is dead or alive. If they cannot agree, then it’s a blank end. No one else should get involved in the decision making.

If a jack crosses the ditch line without leaving the side of the mat then Rule 10 applies.
